Madame Web senses something dangerous is on its way here. So she contacts Spider-Man (Miguel from 2099) to tell him he needs to pick out members of the Spider-Verse to fight this entity and form the Spider-Society. He immediately chooses Arana, but then gets captured before he can pick the rest. Arana is now in charge of the Spider-Society and is rescuing Miguel. She picks Spider-Punk, Ghost-Spider, Spider-Man (Miles), Web-Weaver, Spider-Woman, Spider-Hunter, Spider-Cat, and Weapon VIII. Another Spider-Woman shows up as well. While Madame Web is losing her ability to sense the future, someone has sent the Sinister Squadron with Gwen-Goblin, Electro, Halloween Jack, Doc Oc, Travesty, and others.
The Sinister Squadron shows up at Madame Web's place, and the Spider-Sociery follows them for a knock-down, drag-out fight that ends with most of them captured, except Madame Web and Arana. When the Sinister Squadron captures the Web of Life, which connects the multiverse, things begin to go from bad to worse. The art is really good, especially when more creatures from the Spider-Verse make brief appearances, including Spider-Raman and Spider-Pig. Segura's writing is sharp, and the storyline is very creative. I really enjoyed seeing all those from the Spider-Verse and their enemies from different worlds. This was a graphic novel worth reading.
