I do not think that there can ever be enough books about anything and I say that knowing that some of them are going to be about Pilates. The more knowledge the better seems like a solid rule of thumb, even though I have watched enough science fiction films to accept that humanity’s unchecked pursuit of learning will end with robots taking over the world.-Sarah Vowell

Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen "Sitting In a Tree" Series by Brian Michael Bendis (Writer), Sara Pichelli (Artist), Gaetano Carlucci (Inkier), Justin Ponsor (Colorist), VC's Cory Petit (Letterer), Jason Latour (Writer), Robbi Rodriguez (Artist), Rico Renzi (Colorist), VC"s Clayton Cowles (Letter), and Travis Lanham (Letter)

Spider-Man #12 opens with Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen kissing.  Then it cuts to Miles in his dorm room talking to his buds Ganke and Fabio about that kiss and his adventure that he just had that took no time at all because he used a device that allowed him to transport between worlds.  He couldn't find his dad and soon he realized why when S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Maria Hill comes to him and tells him that his dad had worked for them and had quit but rejoined to protect him and was off on an off the books mission and was now missing.

Hill sent Jefferson Morales to get a device that S.H.I.E.L.D. had made that was being sold on the black market. Now it and he are gone and she believes that they are in another dimension.  She has an idea of where he might be so she sends Miles there using another device just like the one stolen and it turns out to be Earth-65, Spider-Gwen's Earth where a version of his father Jefferson Morales is known as the Scorpion and is a gangster who has tech that allows him and his minions to travel between dimensions.  She saves him from Jefferson and his minions because he can't get past the fact the guy looks just like his dad.

While at the Scorpion Club that admittance Matt Murdoch allows access too, Gwen finds out that pieces of superhero tech are being auctioned off to the highest bidder.  S.I.L.K. is behind it but it is funding the Scorpion's ultimate plan. While there she is recognized and attacked and Miles helps her out.

The device lets them know that they need to go to another dimension and they leave to find another Earth's Spider-Man tying up S.I.L.K. operatives that are trying to steal batteries.  Suddenly the operatives disappear but later they come back for the batteries and when they do, Miles attaches himself to one of them giving Gwen the device to find him.  The device tells her where to go by pinging at her and she winds up back at her Earth and she goes to where the Scorpion is and finds Miles and the two try to fight their way out, but someone turns on the device to send people to other dimensions and Gwen and Miles end up going through.

They end up in a weird Earth but use the device to beep their way through different Earths trying to find their way back to her Earth when the two get separated and Gwen is left on Earth-8 with no device to get back home.  On this Earth, she and Miles are celebrating their twentieth anniversary.  So she goes in search of her counterparts hoping for help and finds Spider-Ham babysitting their kids along with his kids.  They offer to drop her off back at Earth-65 but that's it. They won't get involved in a mess that they already dealt with years ago.

So Gwen plans to go back to Miles alone to stop the Scorpion.  This storyline includes Spiderman #12, Spider-Gwen #16, Spider-Man #13, Spider-Gwen #17, Spider-Man #14, and Spider-Gwen #18.   Will they be able to stop the Scorpion? Will Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen get together?  Will they find Jefferson Morales?  All these questions and more will be answered in these comics.  This is a great little series.  You see different Earths which is cool and the partnering up of Miles and Gwen is a no brainer.  I really hope to see more pairings of these two in the future.  They work well together and the idea of a romance is not such a bad thing.  I give these comics five out of five stars.
